On Saturday we had the pleasure of performing at the Newcastle under Lyme Festival of Music, Speech and Drama fundraising concert. It was great to be able to sing amidst a pool of fabulous young musical talent.
Newcastle under Lyme Festival is an annual event, organised by volunteers, which provides a valuable performance opportunity for amateur performers of any age. It is open to anyone who can act, recite, play an instrument or sing, or is in a band or choir, to demonstrate their talents.
UHC have entered in the choir class for the past two years, coming first and third, and we were pleased to be asked to take part in the fundraising concert. If you would like to know more about the festival, visit their website.
We barely had time to draw breath before we were singing again, this time at the celebration for University Hospital of North Midlands staff past and present, at Stoke Minster on Tuesday. Many of our members are current or past employees of the NHS so it was very special to be part of a service honouring the dedication of health professionals.
The service was recorded by BBC Radio Stoke and will be broadcast on the 10th June. We’ll be sure to post a link here and on our Facebook page nearer the time.
