Christmas and All That Jazz
We brought a touch of festive jazz to Stoke Minster this Christmas with a performance that celebrated both choral and instrumental music. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Bob Chilcott’s "A Little Jazz Mass," a gem of contemporary choral writing. In just 14 minutes, this piece masterfully conveyed a range of emotions, from the lively and uplifting "Gloria" to the tranquil and deeply moving "Sanctus."
We were delighted to collaborate with AG3 once again, whose dynamic presence on drums, bass, and keyboards brought a fresh energy to the concert. They not only provided expert accompaniment for several of our choral selections but also showcased their own impressive musical talents with some exciting instrumental pieces.
UHC supports the vital work of the UHNM Charity through regular donations. This Christmas, we were particularly delighted to present a donation of £4,000, and were also honoured to have Dr. Simon Constable, Chief Executive of UHNM, join us at the concert to personally receive the donation.

UHNM Charity single
This Christmas, the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) Charity released a heartwarming charity single, and we at UHC were thrilled to lend our voices to this special project.
The single, a heartfelt rendition of Supertramp’s classic “Give a Little Bit,” aims to spread festive cheer and inspire generosity during the holiday season and throughout the year. The single also featured Lauren May, Ian Rowlands, and Charlotte Hulme.

Going for Gold
UHC brought the spirit of the Paris 2024 Olympics to Basford last summer with a vibrant, Olympics-themed concert.
Held at the beautiful St. Mark’s Church, the event celebrated the Games, the world of sport, the city of Paris, and the diverse nations participating. Choir members transformed the church with a display of flags and Olympic rings, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. Our enthusiastic audience joined in the celebration, waving their own flags with gusto.
The eclectic program featured a range of iconic pieces, from the inspiring "Chariots of Fire" and the charming "Les Champs-Elysées" to the powerful anthems "One Moment in Time" and "We Are the Champions." The energy in the room was electric, and the concert was thoroughly enjoyed by both the choir and the audience.
